Abstract

|
PACS has been in use as an major clinical infrastructure for medical image based patient care. Radiation oncology area, however, has been excluded from PACS service due to the lack of DICOM standard support by equipments and uniqueness of workflow. Authors could develop a PACS for radiation oncology using standard DICOM-RT protocol, and interface the system with electronic medical record system. This article introduces our experience this development project performed for the first time in Korea in Seoul National University Hospital.
